Free research data access to be awarded this quarter
Calling all academic researchers interested in economic and social science data: Dewey Data is excited to announce our first Research Data Grant program!
Research teams selected for this grant will be awarded free data access to the dataset of their choosing that covers topics like consumer spend, mobility, real estate, weather, company financial data, and more.
About the program
For over two years, Dewey been laser-focused on our mission to democratize data access for academics. We have heard so many stories of research grants being denied or administrative details delaying access to the data that researchers need to continue their work. Offering grants to researchers who may not otherwise be able to commit to a full Dewey subscription is just one small step we can take to support the academic research community. Selected grant recipients will receive access to a dataset of their choice for up to two years or until their research project is submitted for publication.
How to apply
Interested applicants can simply complete the short application below to be considered. Dewey’s 2024 Research Data Grant applications will be accepted now through November 15th.
The selected grant recipients will be notified by December 1st. We can’t wait to see the projects and insights that result from unlocking data access.

Who should apply?
This program, as with all Dewey offerings, is exclusive for academic researchers only. Faculty and PhD students from institutions around the world are encouraged to share their research topics along with the Dewey data providers they are interested in accessing.
The fine print
- Terms - All recipients must adhere to Dewey’s standard terms and conditions
- Team - Research data grants cover all team members collaborating on one specific research project. Data shall not be used for additional projects and must be deleted at the end of the term
- Access - Data will be granted by product, and the Dewey platform can be used to download the data
- Duration - Up to 24 months to submit for publication
- Publication Status - We’ve love to help along the way! Keep us updated on the status of your paper so we can answer questions and ultimately help promote your work
