A Better Way to Access Research Data

Dewey is officially live! Thanks for stopping by to learn more - we really appreciate all of the feedback and pre-registrations we’ve received leading up to this day. If you’re a faculty member or student of a university, you can now access the Dewey marketplace to browse unlocked datasets and fast-track your research.

New to Dewey? Here’s a little bit about us:

Our mission

Dewey’s mission is to democratize access to research data. We noticed that the process for accessing valuable datasets for academic research was broken, so we set out to fix it. Researchers and Universities were spending way too much time searching, negotiating, licensing, and often failing to get their hands on datasets that would drive new research capabilities. We took it upon ourselves to own these steps of the process so researchers can focus on what they love…researching.

Through this process, we’ve discovered that many data providers want to support research, but have struggled to build the resources or platform required to reach this audience at scale. They’re constantly under pressure to focus on their core business channels, so they see Dewey as an opportunity to outsource their academic efforts, grow their brand, and contribute to innovative research.

The short video below helps demonstrate the capabilities of the platform:

Building a community for data researchers

We’re excited to connect researchers and data providers, and have been amazed to see what incredible research has come out of these relationships. Our growing academic community makes this platform possible by creating a place for researchers to discover and share new ideas, network with other data users, and get the support they need to be successful.

Special thanks to our launch data partners: SafeGraph, Revelio Labs, Kaiko, Homebase, and Scope3. There are a lot more coming soon! If you’re interested in unlocking your data for research, or can think of a dataset that you’d like to get your hands on, please let us know.

Happy researching!
